Petfood Testing and AAFCO
Nutritional Analysis
Information about the nutritional composition and contaminants of petfoods and feed is critical in providing a healthy commercial product.

A leader in nutritional testing, we utilize the most advanced technology to provide high quality nutritional data in a timely manner. We also have capabilities to analyze a wide variety of contaminants such as heavy metals and pesticides as well as naturally occurring toxins such as mycotoxins, glycoalkaloids, and anti-nutrients.

Our validated methods are based on published methodologies to assure accuracy and quality of the analysis to the highest standards. Beyond ISO we have set up and live by a TQM Program which contains rigid method performance and quality aspects to monitor the performances of nutritional methodologies. This allows for daily means of evaluation the validity of results for each batch of a customers sample submissions.

We participate in a variety of PT programs and round robin testing with a group of like minded petfood testing laboratories. Many of our methods are performed in conformance with our ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation including AAFCO Guaranteed Analysis of Pet Food.

At minimum, many state and countries as a whole have regulations requiring pet food and pet treats to guarantee the minimum and maximum percentages of nutritional components such as crude fiber and moisture.

The majority of manufacturers today include guarantees for other nutrients as well. The maximum percentage of ash (the mineral component) is often guaranteed, although not required by most regulations. We have a specialized team of scientists that live by the standards of petfood and can guide customers in order to make the proper decisions when it comes to pet food labeling.

Every pet food company has an obligation to have their formulas analyzed and their products clearly labeled with easy-to-understand information for consumers. If companies choose not to abide by the minimum nutrient guidelines set forth by AAFCO, they have a responsibility to explain their reasoning and more importantly, how they are providing balanced nutrition for pets by ignoring AAFCO standards.

Our trained teams can even help with your formulas in order to provide the maximum nutrition based on your ingredients. New ingredients and additives are being introduced at lightening speed, we can keep you abreast of these changes and discuss how they may or may not be a suitable choice depending on your specifications or design. We have succscesfuly participated in the design, tweaking and product improvement for a wide array of main meal wet, main meal dry and pet snacks and treats. We have a number of resources our at hands in order for your product to succeed. Wherever in the process of development the product is, we can help assist with current goals and let us identify knew goals for your product that may have been overlooked. Another set of skilled eyes on a product should be always welcomed, often it yields positive results one never knew your product may have held.
